SuperDino Supermercados S.L. is a Spanish chain of supermarkets operating in Spain and the Canary Islands. They trade from over 200 stores and operate three distinct formats: HiperDino – large supermarkets and hypermarkets with extensive offering -, SuperDino – small neighborhood supermarkets – and HiperDino Express.
Dinosol put their faith in Veltio to install a functional Oracle Replenishment Optimization with a working forecasting system in order to avoid large overstocks and high wastage due to their ineffective supply chain and severe liquidity constraints.
Veltio created a process from scratch that would be easy for users to understand and provide a more accurate picture of demand to drive replenishment optimization.
The numbers
The results
The integrated fast-tracked Retail Demand Forecasting solution allowed Dinosol to benefit from Replenishment Optimization in half the expected time. Within 6 months of going live on Replenishment Optimization, the average value inventory on hand was reduced by $25 million, releasing liquidity for other investments. The reduction in stock value was achieved purely through faster supply chain operations and better store and Distribution Center forecasts; there was no drop in revenue or store service levels.
