Sportmaster is the largest sportswear chain in Russia with over 500 large format stores. They intended to maximize each store’s sales potential with an advanced, science-based Assortment Planning solution. Their main pain was the need to adopt a business model that would enable the company to become more flexible and accurate in predicting and meeting consumer demands and expectations for its brands and collections.
Veltio implemented a highly automated and customizable Assortment Planning solution that helped Sportmaster to redefine and integrate optimized planning processes into a common workflow, which was key for driving efficiency throughout the business.
A common defined set of best practices that delivers consistent and accurate information to the business have replaced legacy applications, automated manual processes and reduced planning discrepancies and scattered sources of data. A merchandise hierarchy was created to correspond with the layout of each store, supporting Sportmaster’s goal to plan by collection and for overlapping buying periods when transitioning from season to season. The system also provided store clustering at global and category level that allowed Sportmaster to be flexible when grouping their stores. Finally, Veltio enanbled the automation of mass placeholder creation and the creation of size level and style-color buy plans at SKU, store and week levels.
