Grupo Eroski (Eroski) is a large grocery retailer in Spain trading products like food, bakery, pharmaceuticals, household items, general merchandise, electrical appliances, sports goods etc. 

The large and continuous expansion in different categories of retail products, created the need for Eroski to set a clear, consistent planning process across each categories. 

The creation of transparent category financial plans were essential to give visibility to multiple management positions outside the Category Management role. 

Eroski chose Veltio to implement Category Management in order to improve their category planning process and improve financial visibility outside each category.

The results

Veltio’s implementation managed to create a clear, consistent planning process across categories; efficiency has been enhanced by streamlining lower-level planning. 

A solution was configured to commercial policy targets. Item Selection was automatically aggregated for analysis against the commercial policy targets. 

One of the main benefits was the creation of transparent category financial plans that gave visibility to a variety of management positions outside the Category Management role. 

Product mix is localized and custom centric – for this purpose Veltio created a new and consistent process across disparate product types, that allowed for uniqueness and that is currently being rolled out across categories.
